SNZ NATIONAL SCORING PATHWAY

The 2025 Knowledge of Scoring Assessments (KAST) opens on 1 September and will close on 15 September.

There is no restriction for sitting the Foundation Level which involves answering a set of questions about scoring in an online assessment.  Levels One and Two are for scorers who successfully complete the Foundation Level and involve scoring a game from a video (Level One) and then analysing it (Level Two).  There are also some online questions about scoring analysis in the Level Two assessment. 

The assessment for Foundation Level, to Level One and on to Level Two reflects moving from the Foundation Scorer to Development Scorer in the SNZ National Scoring Pathway.  Not all levels need to be attempted in any one year.

We will be trialling reopening the Foundation Level in October and expect to reopen Level One and Two during the playing season in 2026.
