Sub-Committees

2026/2027 season will consist of the three following sub-committees:

  • Junior / Senior Committee
  • Competitions Committee
  • Representative Committe

The key reasons for these sub-committees are to:

  • Give clubs a greater voice and opportunity to contribute to the future direction of our sport.
  • Share the workload and allow the Board to maintain a stronger focus on governance and strategic matters.
  • Encourage new ideas, initiatives and opportunities for growth.
  • Expand the volunteer base and encourage greater participation.
  • Provide positive support to the SSA Board.

The Board recognises that many of the concerns and complaints received relate to the areas covered by these sub-committees. As a result, the Board is committed to a more consultative approach, with each sub-committee having a direct connection to the Board through an appointed Board member who will provide oversight and support.

The sub-committees will play an important role in discussing issues, developing ideas and making recommendations to the Board. However, they will not have the authority to make final decisions without Board approval, particularly where financial commitments or funding are involved.

It is intended that this will be a collaborative and collegial process, with open communication between the clubs, sub-committees and Board. If successful, further sub-committees may be considered in the future.

At their initial meetings, each sub-committee will identify and document its key areas of focus, responsibilities and priorities for the season.
